Natural Beauty Tips to help you get a beautiful face

Natural-Beauty-Tips

Some people are blessed with naturally beautiful, glowing skin – and the rest of us hate you for it!  All joking aside, not all of us can simply just roll out of bed and really expect to face the day without putting in a little bit of effort into our looks.  However, for those of us who actually have to work on our appearance, there are five key tricks you can do to maximize your own genuine beauty without resorting to harsh chemicals or artificial methods.

Shannon Mouser, Co-owner of Viva Day Spa explains, “Create a skincare routine that focuses on hydration and prevention. Keep your skin hydrated by drinking lots of water, moisturizing, and applying topical Hyaluronic Acid. Practice prevention with deep cleansing, exfoliation, and sunscreen — along with anti-aging spa and med-spa treatments.”

1) Drink plenty of water

Drink plenty of water
Most of us aren’t getting the recommended minimum of 64 ounces of water that we need daily, and that can be extremely detrimental to your skin.  Signs of dehydration include dark urine, a parched throat, and headaches, but that’s not the only problem that can arise from not drinking enough water.  Dehydration can lead to poor skin laxity, a dull complexion, dark circles under your eyes, fine lines and crow’s feet, and acne.  For a radiant glow, drink up!

2) Get your beauty sleep

Getting ample sleep at night isn’t just for your personal safety and cognition; over time, compounding inadequate sleep can start to take its toll on your face.  Not getting enough sleep can raise your cortisol, leading to a puffy face and acne breakouts.  You can also develop sagging bags under your eyes and poor skin tone.  To ward off premature aging, aim for a minimum of 7-8 hours per sleep each night.

3) Pamper your skin with routine facials

Facials aren’t a frivolous indulgence.  Over-the-counter cleansers and exfoliants don’t pack the same punch as the high-quality products used in spas, which means at your efforts are, at best, inadequate.  Regular facials can exfoliate dull skin, extract blemishes that lead to large pores, and banish fine lines and wrinkles.  Treat yourself to monthly facials and you’ll rediscover your own natural, youthful luminosity.

4) Develop healthy habits

Getting plenty of sleep and drinking sufficient water are incredibly important, but that’s just one part of the equation.  People who exercise regularly have markedly improved skin, since improves circulation and helps you sweat out toxins.  Don’t feel like taking a jog?  Find other forms of exercise that call to you, like yoga or even gentle walking.  And once you cool down from your workout, refuel with fresh fruits, veggies, and lean proteins.  Avoid the temptation to fill up on greasy, fatty, or sugary foods, which have been shown to cause oxidative stress that leads to poor skin tone and acne.

5) Avoid sun exposure

sun exposure
Yes, we all know that a tiny bit of sunshine is good for Vitamin D synthesis, but the truth is that even a small amount of sun exposure can cause permanent damage to your skin.  Don’t be fooled into thinking there’s any such thing as a “healthy tan”.  UV exposure can lead to wrinkles, age spots, and even melanoma.  It’s just not worth the risk, so reach for sunblock with a minimum of SPF 50 that blocks both UVA and UVB rays.

Natural beauty isn’t some fantastical myth devised to fuel our insecurities; anyone can attain it, if they’re willing to put forth the minimal effort to maintain it.  Remaining beautiful is a synergistic effort, combining holistic care for your skin with healthy choices.  Following a basic regimen of drinking enough water, getting plenty of sleep, and partaking in a healthy lifestyle can keep you on the path of effortless beauty.  Setting aside time every month to have your skin professionally pampered is also essential and just as important as using sunblock.  If you follow these recommended steps, you also can have a naturally beautiful face.
