Paula Begoun’s response to a query on the use of nanotechnology in skin-care products speaks much in negation to the application of the process in the skin-care products.
Paula refers to the permeability of particles that being small or nano in nature permeate into the capillaries and veins. However, inadequate facts on the use of nanotechnology points out that the consumers should be careful while using the products.
It is the same old story of the cosmetic industry bragging about beauty products to lure customers.
To quote Paula:
Even if nanotechnology were being used to manufacture a specific ingredient, you know as well as I do that cosmetics companies only provide wonderful, glowing comments about their products, and the manufacturers of such ingredients do the same thing.
In a nutshell nanotechnology has just entered the cosmetics industry and the reliability of the particle used can only confirm the harmless nature of the process in a particular product.
