6 Easy treatment for gum in hair

Gum in hair

Gum in hair is one of the beauty disasters which everyone wants to avoid. As opposed to what most people believe, the necessary option to treat the situation does not lie in visiting a salon for a haircut. There are a few easy and cheap methods to get a gum out of your hair. We have put together few of these methods.

1. Peanut butter treatment

Go to your kitchen and get some peanut butter with a high content of oil. Apply this over the area using an old toothbrush as it is less messy. Use long strokes downwards and outwards. This will dissolve the gum with the oil in the peanut butter. Now take a dry towel to pull the peanut butter. Gum will come along with this. Rinse your hair with a mild shampoo and then condition your hair or apply any oil (olive, canola, or vegetable oil) to the gum area. Leave it for 2-3 minutes. Gently comb the gum out of the hair. Wash hair with a mild shampoo.

2. Treating with hair mousse

Take a small amount of hair mousse and apply it over the gum area. Then gently comb the hair and gum will come along with this. Wash hair after this or first soak the area where the gum is stuck in salt water. Then place ice on the gum. Let it be there for 5-10 minutes. It will make the gum hard. Then pull the gum with a wide comb.

3. Cold cream rescue

Apply some cold cream over the gum. Let it be there for 15-20 minutes and then rinse hair with a mild shampoo or apply the Vaseline to the area of gum. Take wide comb or tooth brush and comb the gum and Vaseline out of hair. Wash the hair with mild shampoo.

4. Alcohol dose as hair fixer

Rub the alcohol to area where gum is stuck. Take a wide comb and comb the gum out of hair. It will come off easily. Wash the hair with shampoo or soak a cotton ball in eucalyptus oil and apply it on the gum. The gum will melt and come off. Wash the hair with a mild shampoo.

5. Adhesive remover for hair

Buy adhesive remover from market. Rub it on the gum. Let it be there for some 5-10 minutes. Pull the gum with paper towel or take some toothpaste. Apply it on gum. Leave it for some time. Pull the gum with wide comb or spray some WD-40 on the gum area. Rub it with fingers. Pull the gum with paper towel. Wash hands with soap. Use WD-40 carefully as it can be harmful if consumed. Wash your hair with mild shampoo.

6. Rub hand lotion on gum area

Take some hand lotion and rub it on gum area and rinse the gum with mouthwash. Gum will come off easily with a wide comb or apply some silicone drops over the gum area. Let it be there for some time. Take a wide comb and gently comb the hair and gum will come along with this. Wash hair with shampoo.
