These conditions can be cosmetic damages to the scalp, hormonal imbalance, nutritional deficiency and some other medical conditions.
4. Clean your bathing essentials
It is also recommended that you clean your towel, comp and pillowcase on a regular basis. If necessary change them altogether. As these things get in touch with the hair regularly, there are certain chances that they may also be contributing to the problem.
5. Minimize the use of chemical hair products
Stop using special hair products, such as brilliantine, mousse or hair gel for a few days. Then clean your hair properly and ask someone who is close to you whether the smell still exists. If you find that stopping the products has stopped the hair odor, then it is better to stop using them forever.
6. Cling to home remedies
There are certain home remedies that one can adhere to for getting rid of this problem, best of them is massaging the scalp with a solution of water and baking soda. Applying a mixture of lemon juice and rosemary oil is also considered highly beneficial cure for hair odor. Using salicylic acid and sulfur based shampoos is idle to get rid of Hair odor as it helps prevents microbial infection.
7. Avoid food with pungent odor
People with smelly hair should reduce or avoid intake of food that has pungent smell, e.g. onion, garlic etc. Drinking of sufficient water is also recommended with a balanced diet.
