Stripless wax, like its name suggests, is a type of wax that is intended to be used without any disposable or cloth wax strips. The wax is heated and applied straight to the desired body part, allowed to cool and then stripped off. Being considerably less painful than traditional waxes, it has gained immense popularity of late as an in-salon treatment though you can also do it home very easily. Here are a few hints on how you can use a stripless wax at home.
1. Where to use?
Stripless wax are best suited for smaller, more sensitive body parts like bikini areas, eyebrows, top lip and underarms. It may prove to be too time consuming for larger areas like legs and arms.
2. Proper heating
Read the instructions on the wax bottle and heat wax accordingly. Use a wax heater or a microwave to heat the wax though it should never be allowed to get scorching heat. Also, stripless wax becomes useless when heated too high so try to get it around lukewarm before using.
3. Spread a thin layer
Using a wax applicator, spread a very thin layer of the heated wax on the desired area in the direction of hair growth. Remember to spread the wax over a relatively small area for best results. Allow the wax to cool completely for it to be more effective.
4. Remove
You do not need a waxing strip to pull off stripless wax. You need to pull directly onto the cooled down film. Pull in the direction opposite to the hair growth. Repeat the entire process till the desired area is completely free of hair.
5. Finish with a soothing balm
To prevent clogged pores and skin irritation, always apply a soothing aloe lotion, balm or post wax lotion to the waxed area.
