The Journal of the American Academy of Dermatology from Harvard have pointed out through a survey of habits and diets of nearly 50,000 people that those who drank more than three cups of milk a day were more vulnerable to an acne outbreak.
The most surprising part of the survey was the effect of skimmed milk, cheese and foods containing iodides on the androgens in the body, to stimulate the sebaceous glands and cause acne, which is much more than other greasy foods.
Other research have also proved that it is the effect of milk on hormones that shoot up the level of acne. Parents may consider replacing this allergy towards lactose with other forms of milk like soy milk or plant juices.
