The Emmy Awards is televisions biggest night with all the biggest names stepping out in their very best. Beautiful gowns and makeup make the Emmy’s one of the most watched shows on the planet, people look forward to the trends that started here. Understated flowing gowns, bright lipsticks and twenty’s inspired hair ruled the red carpet.
Popular colors and gowns:
Simple elegance was the look that many tried to achieve and many of the stars chose to wear couture; single colored and flowing gowns were a rage at this year’s Emmy’s. Actress Sofia Vergara chose to wear a red Vera Wang Gown that had a trumpet skirt. Kaley Cuoco also chose to wear Vera Wang in Burgundy. Bright purple, yellow and pomegranate were also some of the colors that stars like Carrie Underwood, Heidi Klum and Anna Faris chose to wear. Actresses like Kerry Washington and Claire Danes chose softer, more ethereal colors for a more understated look. This year’s Emmy’s , the stars decided to take things to a new level by wearing a lot of couture, actress Kerry Washington stole the show with her Marchesa gown from their show last month. She wore a blush colored gown that had gold embroidery on it along with white flower appliqués. Some of the stars opted for a simple, minimalist look; stars like Claire Danes, Kerry Washington and Taylor Schilling chose to wear pale pink gowns proving that sometimes less can definitely be more.

There were plenty of colors and risks on the red carpet and also a lot of lace overlays, strategically placed slashes and graphic duo toned dresses. Elegant and bold are two words that sum up the Emmy Awards 2013 fashion on the red carpet. Various shades of blue were also seen on the red carpet, with stars like Tina Fey, Zooey Deschanel and Jessica Pare wearing gowns from Narciso Rodriguez, J. Mendel and Oscar de la Renta respectively. Red, white and green were also a color of choice for many the stars walking down the red carpet. Nail art was another fashion trend that many of the stars like Zooey Deschanel, Kate Mara, Sarah Hyland and Zosia Mamet rocked. Sheer, shimmery and sophisticated make up; a trend that was seen in the spring 2014 fashion shows had found its way to the Emmys.
A lot of oversized cocktail rings were also seen on many of the stars, with chunky diamonds matching the color of your gown being the favorites. Necklaces were almost a no show and only a few of the stars wore cuffs or bracelets.
