1. Do not apply heavy makeup on lips and eye together
When you are applying heavy or dark makeup on your eyes, do not use a dark lipstick. It does not go well. Similarly, if you are using a red lipstick, then avoid using dark colors on the rest of your face. Keep it simple and subtle on either lips or eyes.
2. If you have plump lips, apply liner outside your lip line

Match the liner closely to your lipstick color. You can use a light liner with dark lipstick, although it wonât give you the desired result; but never apply dark liner with light lipstick.
7. Donât directly test lipstick on lips
You should not directly test the color of the lipstick on your lips. It is very unhygienic. You should always apply it on the fingertips (recommended) or back of hand to check whether the color suits you.
8. Donât just throw off bad color lipsticks
Do not waste lipsticks which you feel are not suitable to you. Rather try to mix two or more shades of lipsticks and get an appealing unique color all together.
9. Avoiding lipstick stains on glass or cups
It happens all the time. Whenever you use a glass to drink, the print of your lipstick comes on the edges of the glass. In order to stop this from happening, you should lick your lips a bit before drinking from the glass.
10. How to not let the lipstick get on your teeth?
After applying the lipstick, put your index finger inside your mouth, while your lips surround the finger. Take the finger out and you will see that the extra lipstick has been taken out on your finger rather than on your lips.
11. Use lipstick as a blush
You can use your lipstick as a blush when you donât have that color you wanted. Gently apply a bit of lipstick with your fingers on your cheeks. But, never use the blush on your lips.
12. Age and your lipstick
Lips become thinner as you age. Hence, it is advised that you apply lipsticks which have creamy texture rather than glossy, matte or dark colors. It gives your lips that rich look.
13. Lipstick color
Your lipstick shade is often tested on your skin to know which color suits you. Shades like orange or brown does not suit everyone. Therefore, always apply it on your fingertips or back of your hand to know whether it would look good on you.
14. How to camouflage your yellow teeth?
If your teeth have extreme yellowness, you should apply cool hues. Shades of pink, plum, violet or wine goes best in such conditions. Avoid orange or brown shades or even red.
15. Donât throw broken lipstick
You can always join the broken lipstick. Never throw it off, considering that it has gone waste. Just light a matchstick and gently wave it below the broken portion to melt the lipstick. Then join it with the other part and keep it in the fridge for about 30 minutes. Your lipstick would then be good to use.
16. Donât throw off almost finished lipsticks
When only a bit of lipstick is left, you can still put it to good use. Just take a bit of cotton, scrape off the lipstick and apply Vaseline or lip gloss on it and mix it on a palette. You can now use a lip brush to apply your lipstick.
