Hair can be a great asset when it is clean or a huge damper if it is greasy. Greasy hair could be the result of anything from hormones and stress to genetic reasons or product buildup. You must take special care of oily hair and scalps as they can lead to more hair issues and harm the health and presentation of your hair. Here are some tips which may help you in managing or avoiding the greasy hair.
1. Prevent oily hair with tea tree oil
Oiliness can be reduced by using a shampoo that contains tea tree oil. A popular ingredient, tea tree is known to work well on the facial and body skin, just as it would on your scalp. Without making your scalp dry, it reduces the oil and will leaves you with a squeaky clean and fresh tingling feeling.
2. Old natural remedy
A salt based gentle laxative that works for almost everything that ails you and is part of age old remedies might also great for oily hair. You can dissolve one half cup of salts into three cups of luke warm water and use this concoction as a deep-cleaning pre-shampoo rinse.
3. Dry shampoo
Dry shampoo, when applied at the roots of your hair will help prevent them from sticking together and looking limp. Dry shampoo, however, can weigh down the hair, so you must choose a product that is light and apply it sparingly. It also has scented options, which can be fun to used, but you must remember to brush it out very well so that there is no buildup which will add the the oiliness.
4. Blotting the grease
When you are hard pressed for time and need to get rid of the oil quickly, grab a bunch of bathroom paper towels and do this. Part your hair at about five different places and working with any one part of your scalp, tuck in a paper towel under one portion of the parted hair. Using a clean brush or another paper towel press the hair down on the tucked in paper towel to soak up some of the oil try to avoid using your fingers as it will only add to the oiliness. This should be done for about two minutes.
