Makeup tips for warm skin tone

Analyzing your skin type helps you to choose your skin tone. Choosing the right color tone depends totally on the skin tone you have and helps to enhance your complexion and look your best. The tinge of your skin determines whether you have a cool or a warm complexion. A warm complexion looks more natural when you pick up shades of similar colors. So choose colors carefully. Whether you find natural or dramatic makeup irresistible, here’s how to make a choice between the most flattering colors for your warm skin tone and create your own personalized palette.

1. Face

Apply foundation that blends well with your warm skin tone. Foundation is the base of makeup, a light layer of it helps to even the skin tone and eliminate redness. Avoid foundations that have light or pink undertones. Stick to yellow base like wheat, beige, amber and tan.

Like foundation, bronzer shades should also match your skin’s natural tone. Try and avoid purples and pinks, instead try out orangish-red tone like strawberry, peach, or copper on your cheeks. Take a soft makeup brush and sweep the bronzer across your cheeks and temples. Bronzer gives you a natural and healthy look and its ideal for a warm skin tone. Darken the bronzer shade matching your skin color.

2. Eyes

If you are going for natural highlights, choose shadows matching your skin tone like chocolate, beige, gold, taupe, copper, eggshell, olive or apricot. You can experiment by using contrasting colors to those natural eye shadows for example:

a. Magnificent browns

If your eyes are darker brown, colors like sea green and turquoise will suit you best. For lighter brown eyes, plum or lavender will be the best choice. For eye liner and mascara, go with basic, brown or black.

b. Phenomenon hazels

Hazel shades alongside natural highlights like a pale crimson, pink, coral or mauve background will create contrast. You can also opt for charcoal eye liner and mascara.

c. Elegant greens or blues

With warm skin tone, a blend of cool-eyed is already a natural contrast. So to keep your eyes looking dazzling, match your shadow to your eye color. You can always add a highlighter with vivid red, orange or gold for the splendid effect. Apply brown, navy or green mascara and eye liner for that magnificent look.

3. Lips

a. For lips, draw on deeper versions of your blush color and steer clear of the frosted tones and opaque. Apply lipstick matching your warm skin tone.

b. Apply lip liner after applying lipstick and blend it well. Choose a lip liner which is some what similar to your lipstick shade for that complete look.

c. At the end give the finishing touch to your lips by applying a thin coat of lip gloss. Lip gloss enhances the color of your lipstick, giving them a soft and glossy look.

If you are not confident of the type of skin tone you have i.e. warm or cool, one of the simplest way to judge is by looking at the veins on your wrist. If the veins are of green shade then your skin tone is warm whereas if it’s more of blue, you have a cool skin tone. Else if you find your looks better in a bronze-orange top other than a hot pink one, you have a warm skin tone.
