3 Fall skin and hair care tips

Dry and chilly fall requires you to alter your skin and hair care routine. Both skin and hair would undergo changes due to the outdoor temperature and humidity. Fall looks call for a refined and clear look. A bare and refined do with a delicate and graceful disposition is the way to go. Here are some skin care tips to alter your beauty regimen for the season.

1. Skincare

Dry and flaky skin is a big problem these days. Here are a few precautions to be followed for your skin regimen during the spell. Stay away from face and body cleansers, that dry out your skin. Fruity gels or water based products, that hardly have any moisturizing ingredients can be tough on the skin. Don’t miss out moisturizing in this weather. It can really take a toll on your skin in the long run. You can easily steal a few minutes to hydrate your body and face thoroughly and do it just after your bath.

In the wintry chill, don’t exfoliate too often or very harshly. Your skin might become dry, reddish or blotchy. Just because it is cool and cloudy outside doesn’t mean that you can go outside without a sunscreen. Going outdoors, without applying sunscreen can scorch the skin. Also, don’t pass over scrubbing and moisturizing the feet. Your thick winter shoes rub against your feet throughout the day, chafing them. Having a good foot care regimen in place is imperative.

2. Make up

Bold eyes, cheeks, and lips are not highly sensational anymore – they will make you look like a wannabe, especially, the swipe of a thick black liner across the lashes. Cat eyes or retro eye makeups are not trendy at this time of the year. Don’t go overboard while doing up your eyes in cerulean tints. A thin line of cobalt blue eyeliner or delicate hints of silvery sapphire at the corner of your eyes look much better. Also, heavy metallic eye shadow extending from crease line to the brow bone is passé.

The bold red and pink matte lip colors are out of fashion. Instead,Lips should look subtle, demure and glossy. In fact, matte shades tend to dry out the lips during this time of the year. Moisturized, rich, and saturated lips look better. Also, avoid coordinating shades of your lipstick and blush with your clothes.

3. Hair

In this dry weather, one of the biggest pitfalls would be washing your hair very frequently. This will strip hair of its natural sebum making them look worn out and withered. Do up your hair in dainty and flimsy styles, which give you a feminine look. The stiff and big hair from the yester years looks out of place. Skip the bouffant, it demands very high maintenance. Even feathers in your hair look outdated. Avoid hair styles that compel you to touch up and fix your hair every now and then. Additionally, dousing hairspray on your tresses should be avoided. Rigid and inflexible mane will make you appear old fashioned and awkward.
