A non-comedogenic oil that cleanses and moisturizes the skin, jojoba oil can easily be used on your lips. It will make your lips supple, smooth, and soft. The oil not only hydrates lips but is also rich in vitamin E, vitamin B, and minerals. The composition of the oil is similar to the sebum of the skin which makes it an excellent moisturizer.
The oil also has a natural SPF of 5 and so a coating of this oil will protect your lips from sun damage. This beneficial oil is extracted from seeds of the jojoba plant which is a native of Mexico, California, and Arizona. Given below are some ways to nourish and moisturize your lips with jojoba oil.
1. Leave overnight
Jojoba oil can hydrate and nourish your lips. Just let 2-3 drops trickle down on your finger tips. Then rub the oil lightly on the lips and leave it overnight. Lips will become softer the next morning.
2. Mix with your lip balm
One of the easiest ways to apply jojoba oil is to mix it with petroleum jelly or any other lip balm that you use. Just blend a few drops of the oil with the balm and apply onto your lips. Your lips will appear silky soft and supple the next day.
3. Combine with beeswax
This is a simple lip balm recipe. Just mix the oil with beeswax and store a small quantity in a container. Apply this on your lips daily and see them become velvety smooth. You can also add a few drops of essential oils to this blend. Good oils to add in are chamomile, grape fruit, and carrot seed.
4. Formulation with shea butter
If your lips tend to be really dry then here is a more condensed fusion made from jojoba oil and shea butter. Mix equal quantities of bees wax, jojoba oil and shea butter and heat them together. The ingredients should be heated on low heat till they meld together. You can warm them on a cooktop or microwave and keep stirring throughout to ensure that the ingredients blend well. Once the ingredients turn into a gooey mixture remove them from heat and mix in a few drops of fragrant oil. Scents of lavender or tangerine go well with the ingredients. Allow the mélange to cool before you use it.
5. Concentrated balm containing cocoa butter
Take about 20 grams of organic beeswax and heat it. When it melts, mix in it about 120 ml of jojoba oil and 20 ml of thistle oil. Now add about 16 grams of cocoa butter to this blend. Mix all ingredients well and store in a jar.
6. Homemade balm using almond oil and vitamin e capsules
Heat about 3 teaspoons of beeswax and add in 2 teaspoons of shea butter, 1 teaspoon of jojoba oil and 1 teaspoon of sweet almond oil when it begins to melt. Remove from heat and then prick 4 vitamin e capsules and add in their oil. Mix in a few drops of sweet orange oil and allow the blend to cool.
7. Lip gloss
Most lip glosses dry out your skin but the ones made from jojoba oil will nourish and hydrate them. To make the lip gloss at home melt about 4 teaspoons of bees wax. When the wax is heating, mix in 14 teaspoons of jojoba oil and ¼ teaspoon of flavor oil. Remove from heat and blend in 2 teaspoons of honey. When the blend cools down you can add some more quantity of flavor oils. Good flavor oils to choose from are raspberry, coconut, and black cherry.
8. Aloe Lips
A brand called Aloe lips has made a tissue healing lip conditioner that can turn dry and chapped lips real soft. This balm is made from aloe vera gel, jojoba oil, and allantoin which is a tissue healing agent. The balm repairs lips damaged by sun, heat, wind and other harsh weather conditions. In fact, the balm can also cure minor cuts, burns and insect bites.
9. Sukin organics
Another jojoba oil balm is from Sukin organics and it can nourish lips while protecting them from environmental damage. The ingredients used in this product are calendula flower oil, shea butter, cocoa butter, and jojoba oil.

Containing waxes and oil, the Body Time Pure Vanilla Tangerine Lip Balm will soothe your lips. It contains beeswax, jojoba oil, wheatgerm oil, tangerine, clementine, vanilla, ylang ylang, and essential oils of blood orange.
