Is sambucol a sure shot cure for the flu?

My brother is suffering from flu. Can you suggest some cure for him? I am thinking of suggesting him sambucol. Is the sambucol a sure shot cure for the flu? Are you aware of any household cure for the flu that will prove to be really effective?
