How do I dye my dark brown hair light brown without using salon hair dyes?

I recently found that using hair dyes are not good for hair. But I want to change my dark brown hair to light brown and I really don’t know how to go about it naturally. I looked up henna but that won’t really change my hair color. I have also looked up vegetable dyes like Herbatint and Naturtint, but they are also harmful for hair. Do I have any other option? How do I dye my dark brown hair light brown without using salon hair dyes? I would really appreciate your replies. Hope to hear at the earliest. Thanks.
