How to apply eye shadow creams with pencil?

Yesterday I bought a new cream eye shadow which is in pencil form. I have never used pencil eye shadow cream, so I want to use in that way so it would not crease on my eyelids. Have you guys any suggestion for applying cream eye shadow?
