Your skin and its texture no longer remain the same as it was earlier. It looks pale and washed out. So, you should go for little bright make up. Here are some make up tips for gray hair

1. Coloring

One of the most common options for gray hair is coloring. You can choose the hair color which suits the best on you. Burgundy, mahogany, natural brown are the most common colors. For a youthful look you can select some bright color, but be careful it should not be too flashy or look odd on you. If you are planning to get your hair colored at home then there is one thing which you should keep in mind that your gray hair don’t hold the same old natural pigments which help in absorbing hair color. It is quite possible that the color gets washed off after you take a head bath. So, you will have to apply peroxide on your hair first before application of hair color. Leave it on hair for some time and then wash it off. Afterwards go for coloring your hair. You will require coloring your hair again after 30- 40 days.

2. Highlighting

The other option which you can opt is that you can highlight them. Highlights blend with the gray hair very well by giving them a natural look. It is most suited to people having blonde, light brown or medium brown hair. It doesn’t work for black and very dark brown hair. They need to make a contrast highlight. For them the better choice is to get a short hair style and change their natural hair color to some lighter shade. Various trendy small hair do’s are there which compliment to all ages.

3. Face make up

Go for a medium wear liquid luminous foundation or one shade up to what you were using before. It will keep your skin hydrated. A touch of rosy pink, apricot and pastel shades of blush adds life to your make up. Say good bye to brown, charcoal and black shades which will give a muddy look. Try out soft gray, white and taupe colors. Don’t go for shimmers as it can highlight your wrinkles. Try out mineral colors in cream base. A concealer should be applied under eye before applying foundation to highlight the eyes. Covering under eye with light pale concealer will give a fresh look to your eyes. Apply dark brown or black mascara to give density and length to lashes. You can apply transparent mascara base first to add more volume to the lashes. For defining eyes select colors like navy blue, green, violet or gray. Use a retraceable pencil which glides on smoothly and is with waterproof formula. Use a dark brown eyebrow pencil and glide it on opposite direction of the hair growth. Then brush them with eyebrow brush. Keep them in shape. Applying a primer base before lipstick will help in reducing the fine lines and will give you a stained look. Go for cream textured lipstick instead of matte finish. Select shades like red, apricot, peach and rose. Don’t think of brown shades.

4. Balanced lifestyle

One can look good at any age if they eat well, take sufficient sleep and rest. Include proteins and vitamins in your diet which are needed for a healthy body. Give oil massage to your hair twice a week. Don’t forget to remain hydrated as it balances pH level of body, regulates moisture in our hair and skin and keep them nourished.
