Resources Required:

A brush,

A comb

Hairpins,

Elastic

Hair spray (which is capable of holding maximum hair)

Difficulty level: Easy

Procedure:

1. Curl your hair with the help of hair rollers

Hot rollers can vary, but this variation does not change the process of curling hair at all. You should know the process of curling the hair as it is same for all kind of rollers. Then, near the base region of the hot roller, you are required to wrap a few of the hair strands carefully. Roll the roller continuously till the hair curler reaches to the end point of the scalp. Now, secure the curl by using a hot rolling clip.

The same has to be done for entire head. When all the hair strands have been rolled up properly, they are required to settle down. To set the rolled up hair right, you will have to spray a hair spray. The hair spray will set down all your hair properly in a duration of just 10 to 15 minutes. The use of hair spray is important to settle down the hair so that the chignon is formed easily and quickly as well.

2. Simply brush out all the curls and part your hair gradually

Pick up a hair brush and then very gently and smoothly, brush out all your curls. To part the hair on one side, you need a comb. Comb all the hair properly and part them aside. Now, bring all the brushed out and parted hair to one side. After bringing the hair on any of the side, make a pony tail to hold them properly. The pony tail should not be tight; rather it should be loose so that the messy look that you wanted is observable. Infact, it also gives you the look of a real feel of romanticism.

3. Wrap and twist all you hair carefully and properly

The final step requires you to wrap and then twist your hair. First of all, you have to wrap the loose pony tail of yours with an elastic pony tail holder very carefully. Now, give a second wrap second wrap to the pony tail. This wrap is not same as the first one. When you wrap your pony tail for a second time, you are needed to pull all your hair gently but along the half way only. After this wrap, a messy and a loose wrap is formed. This is your side swept chignon.

Apart from this method, there is another idea as well suggested by the Real Simple Magazine. They suggest that, you need to secure your loosened pony tail with the elastic behind the ears. After this, twist your ponytail. Twist it until it starts to coil around itself only. To hold the coil properly for a long time, use a lot of hairpins around the rolled up hair. This is the procedure to twist the hair which is an alternate method and can be followed when you do not wrap your hair.
