8 Tips for a perfect home pedicure

Tips for a perfect home pedicure

You can wear the perfect dress, do the best makeup, but unkempt feet in a sexy pair of sandals can ruin your whole look. Therefore, pretty feet are a basic necessity. Also most of the women don’t have the time to spend in salons and get pedicures done. But if you want good feet, then you don’t need to worry because you can give yourself a pedicure right in the comfort of your own room. Follow these simple tips and tricks to do a pedicure at home.

1. Milk

After you have removed nail polish, spray your feet with an antiseptic and soak it in milk and water. Water would clean your skin but it tends to make the skin dry. On the other hand, addition of milk would exfoliate the cuticles and also keep your skin nourished. The best thing is that milk is right there in your refrigerator. Later you can apply a moisturizer.

2. Pedicure tip

To follow a pedicure, fill a tub with warm water. Add a bath salt with one tablespoon of olive oil. Use a scrubber to gently rub your skin. Salt would soften the calluses and dead skin, while a scrubber would remove them. Olive oil would not let the skin dry. Once this is done, pat dry your feet and apply a cream to retain moisture.

3. Caring cuticles

You should lightly shape your toenails and massage your feet regularly with cream or oil. Don’t cut your cuticles once you have soaked your feet in water. Instead you can shape them. Cutting cuticles may lead to infection by creating more hangnails.

4. Trimming toenails

Always keep your toenails small as you don’t want them to break and cause pain. Trim them by cutting straight across, don’t cut cuticles, rather just push them back with a filer. Cuticles prevent bacteria from entering the skin.

5. Scrubbing activity

Use a foot scrub to remove the dead cells and clean your feet. Massage the scrub deeply and slowly to the trouble spots. Use diamond file rather than pumice stone to smooth the skin. Later, apply a good moisturize to soothe the skin.

6. Importance of exfoliating

Exfoliating your feet would not just help you get rid of dead skin cells, but it will also lead to proper blood circulation in the feet. Exfoliating keeps the skin smooth and removes the dirt that may have accumulated in a time. It would also help to stimulate the flow the blood and make your feet glow and shine.

7. Nail polish

Before using nail paint, use a primer on your nails. This will make the color grip longer on your nails. After you have applied a color, apply a top. Three days later, apply one more coat to prevent chipping of color. Massage with shea butter or any light oil like olive oil on skin to keep it soft and supple. Put socks for the time being so that the skin could absorb more of the nutrients from the oil.

8. Moisturizing the feet

Always keep your feet moisturized as dry feet may lead to infection and formation of dead skin cells. Use a good foot cream and moisturize foot by rubbing in gently on the toes and cuticles. You can wear socks overnight so that your feet don’t dry.

By following these steps, you can perform a pedicure at home and feel the soothing effect of pampering your feet. It would reduce stress and make your feet beautiful. The next time you go out for a party, people would find your feet as attractive as your face. If you follow these steps, then your pedicure may last for about two weeks.
