4 Tips to keep your eyeliner from smudging

Prevent eyeliner from smudging

Eyeliners are an essential eye makeup tool. Liners are shaped like pencils and come in almost all shades. When worn suitably, the liner can help accentuate your looks. Though liners are easy to apply, it is tricky to keep the liner from smudging. Eyeliners can smudge easily due to body heat and oil on eyelids. Smudged eyeliner looks messy and can ruin your whole makeup. A few preventive measures can help keep the liner from smudging thus lending a smart and chic look.

1. Use waterproof liner

Today many brands promise that their eyeliners are waterproof and can stay up to 24hrs. But due to oil and body heat, eyeliners smudge. Try to buy those eyeliners which can stay up to maximum time and are water proof. Try not to buy water based or wax based eyeliners as they melt when comes in contact with body heat.

2. Apply pressed powder on eyelids, before and after

Eyeliners smudge when there is oil on your eyelids. To prevent this apply some pressed powder on your eyelids and then apply eyeliner. Pressed powder absorbs the excess oil. You can also use waterproof foundation instead of pressed powder

After applying eyeliner, apply pressed powder again to the eyelids so that eyeliner stays in place. Do this before applying mascara. Otherwise your eyelashes look clumpy.

3. Use a mattifying cream or primer

If your eyelids are very oily and pressed powders won’t work then use an eyelid primer or mattifying cream. If you are using only eyeliner than apply primer only to that place but if you are using eye shadow too then apply primer to entire lid.

4. Face blotting tissues can help

Always keep some face blotting tissues with you. They help to remove excess oil from your face ad eyelid. Whenever you feel oil on your face or eyelid and whenever your eyeliner starts smudging just press a tissue paper gently on it. This helps to remove oil without removing makeup. Blotting tissues come in small packets which are easy to carry in your smallest handbag.
