4 Tips to apply organic mascara

For creating the illusion of bigger eyes and thick long lashes – women always dab on some mascara for those classy get occasions. It takes about 2-3 minutes to apply an organic mascara to your eyes. Knowing the appropriate application technique is very important. Without this you will end up looking dowdy or grimy. Enlisted here are the essential application tips for an organic mascara.

1. Before using the mascara

Always keep the mascara application stick clean. Pull out the stick in one go without inserting it back and forth. This can damage the soft bristles and will also cause air to enter the mascara tube or bottle. This dries up the mascara and introduces bacteria into the fluid. Instead gently twirl the mascara stick inside the bottle. This also helps you get a feel of the liquid, if it is not smooth and liquidy then don’t use it anymore. Using a dried out and old mascara can give you infections.

2. Steps to kickstart

Start off by coiling your lashes with an eyelash curler. This gives a good foundation to work on. Place the curler as close as possible to the base of the lashes. This ensures you touch all of your eyelashes. Hold the curler here firmly for about ten seconds and then let it free. Then dab some powder on your eyelashes to prevent clumping.

3. Apply the mascara

Now you can start to apply your mascara. Keep the mascara stick on the root of your eyelashes. Work the brush upwards in a gentle swipe. The stroke should go upwards and out. Be gentle as any harsh movements can cause injury or damage. Also, while moving the mascara don’t clamp the lashes. The strokes should space them out. This however comes only with practice. So take note of a few tricks to give a perfect finish to your eyes.

4. Finishing touch

For a illusion of a thicker lash line apply several stokes. Just take a pause in between consecutive applications to allow lashes to dry. To separate lashes, finish up with a lash comb. Gently tug on your lashes from base to tip with the comb. Swipe the comb all across your lashes just once or twice. If the lashes still don’t separate then don’t keep tugging at the base repeatedly. Just wiggle through the tips of your lashes and make them stand apart. You can also try applying a little more mascara with the stick to only the tips of your lashes.
